Production: Music

Before we start filming, we want choose music. Usually it would be the other way around but since we haven’t been able to film we want to make sue we wont be behind on anything. For the music, we figured it would be best to have happy and suspenseful music in the background. Happy music would be played will the two girls are talking and more in the begins when everything seems normal. Suspenseful would be played when Sarah is trying to kill Lynn. There will also be diegetic noise when the two girls put on some music to play. We all decided to email one music artist for each of us. I chose harry styles. I figured since they are young girls it would make sense that they would be playing his music. I don’t expect his team to answer but it was worth a try. I simply told them that i am making a short film in one of my classes. I told them the idea and where i would insert the music. Violet emailed the music artists called Childish Gambino. She has an idea of using the beginning of the song “me and yo mama” because it sounds a little creepy and suspenseful. These are two very big artists. We aren’t really expecting them to answer. If they don't answer we will use royalty free music. We have used this website and other similar ones so we know how it works. Either way, the music will be easy to find.

  “Time For Dinner” the short film portrays imagination through a young child's eyes. Toys may just look like plastic things with no life to them to us now, but we did not always think that way. Adults once too would sit for hours at a time playing with those ‘plastic things’. Somehow, our brain was able to create a whole new world with characters we created, and sometimes we would forget the real world for a second.  1. how does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?     In todays society, you don't see much love or kindness being spread. Sometimes all someone wants or needs to hear is a compliment or something nice and it can save their life. The idea behind our commercial was to "spread joy." If you notice in one clip there is a kid sitting looking sad on a bench and he is given a note that cheers him up. There isn't one specific social group being represented its more of a society as a whole and how important it is to spread kindness. A big issue world wide is selfishness and depression and we thought our commercial could spread some light on that. 2.   There are many things that make a genre clear to what it is. For example, the genre Thriller has usually always has these factors to it.     camera angles:     -High angle/ Birds view: This is used in thriller to give the effect that whatever is being looked down upon looks vulnerable or powerless compared to what is behind the camera.     -close ups: This angle allows the camera to give a clear view of the characters emotions to the event happening .     -Tilted angle: This adds tension to the scene at hand and sometimes signifying a supernatural occurrence.
