Three pitch, two pitch, one pitch

Image
Pitch 1: A little girl's imagination gets out of hand one afternoon. Pitch 2: A girl is doing homework when suddenly she finds a mysterious note left in her book for her.  Pitch 3: A young mom is driving to pick up her son from school, when out of the blue and friend from her past comes her way.  Pitch one is an ideal one for our group, as it can involve girl characters, and our group has four girls. This leaves us options for us to have someone to film, which is good so we don't have to go out of our way to find another cameraman. This, along with the fact that the wording allows for wiggle room, is a pro to pitch 1. However, we would have to take extra steps to find a little girl to play one of the parts, which adds a bit of a challenge, but I think our group is up for that. Pitch 2 is also a reasonable pitch for our group, because we can have one of us acting and the rest of us tackling other responsibilities. However, we are not sure how much we can do with the concept, so...

My group

Image
For this exciting media project i chose some great people. My group members are Violet Roberts, Mila Rakic, and Addison Walker.  In AS level, I have already worked with violet and mila so i decided to work with them again because i liked their work ethic. Violet is a great cameraman/director. Last year she was always the camera man and did a greta job at holding the phone still. She understood how to hold the camera or where to place the actors so that it would look professional and clean. She would always do her part in the project and was a great person if we ever needed someone to step in. I worked with Mila for the commercial last year. She did a really good job at editing, researching, and just doing her part. She is very nice and wont mind if she had to do a little extra work or get her hands dirty. I have never worked with addison but i have known her for a while. I watched her project from last year and thought she did a really great job at acting and editing. I know...

Intro to me!!!

Image
Hello!      My name is Dara Sedaka, I live in two house holds. One is with my dad, step mom, and occasionally my sister will come back from college, and border terrier dog named cooper. The other is with my mom, step dad, same sister, and two dogs named bear and little bear and two cats named slider and snowy. First I want to say i'm not quite sure what I want to be or study in college. ever since I was little I wanted to be a veterinarian and since this summer i think im circling back to it. When i signed up for AS level it was because i was really into direction and perhaps wanted to be it when i was older. its still in the back of my mind thats why i chose to continue to A level. some of my interests include painting, drawing, soccer and hanging out with family and friends. I got into drawing in 5th grade when I would just watch youtube videos of this guy who would teach you how to make anime characters. somewhere along the line I figured out I was really good at...

Project blog! Finally complete!!

Image
This is my final task. it took a while. there were many mistakes needed to be fixed. And even some last minute changes. overall, i'm proud of what me and my group members have made. i knew when we made the plot it was good but i was worried how it would come out. it met my expectations and i think we need some improvements but for our first time i would say we did pretty good. I will probably work with them again. we worked well together. we each did our part. No arguments were made. So happy!

final editing

Image
Since my group has all the scenes don, it's time to complete editing. Since we more or less edited along the way theres not much to do. Anytime we would film we just added it to the project on iMovie. todays editing focused on the writing for the title sequence, volume and anything else we might need to fix. I was excited for the title sequence editing because it will look more or less done. For the title sequence, we just had to look at the storyboard to figure out what goes where and what names we use. On iMovie it gives you many different font options and pop up options. we chose to do the one called "focus. we chose this one because it seemed fitting since it looked a little spooky and its a horror film. We had the percet amount of time for each title sequence. We decided to keep all the other ones white and the title name red for a scary effect. We weren't sure if we had to add "directed by.." at the end of the title sequence or at the end of the whole two ...

Changes from film review

Image
After sending our film to coach Jamie, she gave us feedback. like i previously said in the blog a few days ago she suggested we change the lighting. The scenes she was referring to in particular were the inside on the coach scenes. When we did it originally it was getting dark out so it made sense she thought it was too dark. Re-filming this wasn't an issue since we already knew what to do. We met filmed on Tuesday. Since parker can drive, we all went to my house after school and she took us. We already had the news video filmed so we didn't have to worry about that. We set up my phone to my tv so we could play the news scene. I made sure all the lights were on and the blinds were open. Violet was behind the phone so she made sure the lighting was good. Once we were certain it looked better than before we started filming. We kept going from the storyboard to script to filming so we wouldn't have to film again and everything was right. We had to re-film the scene where Naom...
